Tong Chuan is a seasoned legal practitioner with over 28 years of experience in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. He is qualified to practice in numerous jurisdictions and has practised for varying periods of time in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Prior to establishing EXCELSIOR LAW CHAMBERS LLC, Tong Chuan had practised law with top-tiered law firms such as Allen & Gledhill (Kuala Lumpur) and headed the Litigation and Dispute Resolution departments of 3 law firms in Singapore including Tan Peng Chin LLC.

Tong Chuan has acted for and represented sovereign governments, conglomerates, multi-national corporations and financial institutions. He has conducted many high-profile and landmark cases, including the SQ006-aviation disaster involving Singapore Airlines, where he represented the Taiwan government and aviation authority. He also acted in one of the first judicial management of a foreign-incorporated company in Singapore.

He has conducted trials at all levels of the Courts in Singapore, as well as in statutory and arbitration tribunals. Some of these confrontations have been fought against the very best of litigation practitioners in the country. Many of the cases he handled have been cited and reported in the law journals.

Tong Chuan’s area of practice include construction disputes, insolvency and corporate rescues, insurance and reinsurance matters, shareholders disputes, land law and tenancy disputes, family law and civil litigation and disciplinary proceedings, amongst others.

Tong Chuan was the Dispute Resolution 2020 Award Winner in Singapore, an award conferred by the International Advisory Experts, which is a network of over 10,000 legal professionals.
